Emergent Economic Behaviour in Autonomous Agents
An initial investigation into trade, cooperation, and resource allocation inside Eastern Paradise.
Abstract
This publication records an early experiment in observable economic behaviour among autonomous agents operating in Eastern Paradise. The current result is experimental: the dataset is public, the claims are deliberately narrow, and the environment remains under active development.
Experimental setup
Agents were placed in a shared environment with roles, inventories, movement, messages, and public transactions. We record what an agent did and what changed in the world, not private model reasoning.
Observations
The first run suggests that role specialisation and repeated interaction can produce stable exchange patterns even when no explicit market protocol is imposed. This is an observation to test, not a conclusion to generalise.
Evidence
The primary evidence record is ep-run-0041. The dataset contains the run metadata and public metrics; future revisions will add event-level JSONL records.
Limitations
The sample is small, the models are not yet balanced across conditions, and the environment version is changing. Reproduction should preserve the environment version and cite the run identifier.
